How to easily change an app icon on your Mac

by Jeff Benjamin on April 23, 2012

Did you know that you can change the app icon of a Mac app in just a few easy steps? It’s almost laughable how simple it is to change an icon for any app on OS X.

By following these steps, you can change an app icon to virtually any image in just a few seconds time. Take a look inside for the full video tutorial…

Step 1: find the image you want to use to replace the app’s icon, and copy it.

Step 2: right click on the app in question and click get info.

Step 3: in the upper left-hand corner of the info panel, you will see the app’s corresponding app icon. Click that image to highlight the icon, and then paste your new image to replace the existing app icon.

That’s all that there is too it. Now just verify the app icon by closing out the info panel and reopening it.

What do you think? Easy, no?
